Islanders
-A Sufi Fable There is a Sufi fable about
a group of people
called the Islanders. The fable tells that these people
lived on an island for years under fear and strict rule
of not exploring the water and what's beyond the horizon.
Then one day, they were enlightened, built a boat and
together went to explore what lay beyond their island.
Sufis believe that this fable is a parable of the human
mind or spirit- unwilling to expand and explore at first.
